A little KNOWLEDGE goes a long way…

A little KNOWLEDGE goes a long way…

Why is it that some people are born with a fire in the belly, while others need something to get their pilot light lit? Why do others never get the flame of ambition going?
The more knowledge & self development you can create for yourself the greater the opportunities for success. It is a known fact that well-educated people who continue to build their knowledge feel a greater sense of personal control in their lives.

I was recently reading about a study in the US by Professor Scott Schieman who produced some interesting statistics. The study found there are a number of reasons why well-educated people feel more personal control over outcomes and events in their lives:

• The nature of their work is different. Educated people tend to have higher status occupations with significantly more control over their work schedules
• They are also involved in work that is challenging, interesting and enriching
• Their wages are higher
• Education gives them a greater sense of trust in people and traditions, so they are more effective at using relationships to help them succeed

Schieman stated… “We already know that people who feel personal control over situations in their lives are happier and healthier, so it’s clear that this sense of control is extremely valuable…. This study helps us understand that knowledge & education contributes to building the critical resource that determines psychological and physical well-being.”

So what can we do about this…

  • Firstly we need to be able to clearly identify the areas of knowledge that are most likely to positively influence our personal growth.
  • Learn something new and promote in new ways every day
  • Continually seek to expand our horizons, internally and externally
  • Feed our mind with new lessons and knowledge
  • Expand our social horizons … and
  • Seek out and meet new people and immerse ourselves in new social situations

Think about this for a moment…
The Quality of our learning affects the quality of our Beliefs and Dreams, which in turn leads to our asking better quality questions which derive the answers which we base our decisions on. These decisions create the quality of the actions we take, ultimately affecting the quality of the results we achieve and the quality of life that we have. You see our knowledge has a major impact on our life yet so many of us devote less attention to improving it continuously than we do on our entertainment.

Let me share with you some of my tips to encourage you to continue to grow your knowledge. They are as easy as allocating 10 minutes a day to self-develop……creating a new habit that will be a life-time benefit! While you are driving in the car listen to some of the great audio tapes that are now available…turn off the TV 10 minutes earlier and this will allow you to watch an educational video, or read for 10 minutes….try 10 pages per night – a 200 page book could be read in 20 days. Just think soon you will be reading an extra book per month!!

Also you need to get on to iLearningGLobal. Visit their website http://www.ilearningglobal.tv which is full of 7-10 minute bites of great success focussed education. 10 minutes is all it takes to listen to inspirational topics for yourself & your business development. Call me about it.

Remember that hunger for knowledge grows as you learn more, so there is an excellent remedy for poor motivation: learn more and see how it can impact yours and others’ lives.
Knowledge builds YOU and YOU build YOUR business…….however
You still need to take action… knowledge on its own is not enough…Knowledge applied is the power that leads to success!
